A Slam-Dunk at 14th Street
Last Saturday, I was proud to host the Grand Opening of the new Basketball Courts @ 14th Street. We held short ceremony and then opened our newest 1st District Park to an eager crowd of young people ready for a pick-up game.

The new facility, the length of a full city block, has a beautiful full sized court and three half courts, with all new surfacing and bleacher seating, lights for evening play, new paint, landscaping, and the quality equipment the community deserve.

We broke ground on this new park three months ago, and are grateful that Los Angeles County Supervisor Don Knabe secured $140,000 from the County to fully fund the project.

These new courts continue the incredible park growth we have had in the First District in only two years. A special thanks to the whole Parks & Recreation team for their support on this project.

See you at the courts!
