GoodwillSOLAC to Provide Document Shredding and E-Waste Recycling at Good Neighbor Festival
Goodwill, Serving the People of Southern Los Angeles County (Goodwill SOLAC) will provide Secure Document Shredding and E-waste collection services at the 5th Annual Good Neighbor Festival & Family Picnic hosted by Long Beach Councilwoman Gerrie Schipske, 5th District. The festival provides neighborhood and community organizations an opportunity to share information and their services with the residents of the Fifth Council District.

Saturday, September 24, 2011, from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Good Neighbor Park, 2800 Studebaker Road (in front of El Dorado Community-Senior Center)

The collection drive provides residents the opportunity to safely dispose of their computer monitors and televisions, donate their “gently used” clothing, and securely destroy their documents with our Shred-4-Good service, an accredited secured document destruction business. The first four boxes are free! Items donated are tax deductible and the event is free. Sorry, we cannot accept industrial or large scale e-waste or household hazardous waste, fluorescent tubes or batteries.

GoodwillSOLAC’s e-waste recycling, retail and Shred-4-Good document shredding services last year diverted more than 15 million pounds of product from our landfills, which was recycled and reused. These services help to fund Goodwill’s employment programs and skills development training for individuals with barriers to employment.
