In the meantime, please be patient as there may be a slight impact to traffic along Paramount Blvd. If you have any questions, feel free to contact my office at (562) 570-6137.
Secondly, I would like to encourage all 9th District residents to attend the next North Library Design Meeting, happening in the Ramona Park community room 3301 E. 65th Street on Saturday, June 25. Over the last few meetings, the plans for the library have developed greatly, and if you haven't seen the latest designs, then I encourage you to come participate.
Lastly, at last Tuesday's city council meeting, the council voted on the final draft map for redistricting. That final draft map includes South Street as the south border of our district, consistent with the desires of the 9th District residents who attended our Redistricting Town Hall meeting two weeks ago.
This is a preliminary victory for the 9th District, and it would not have happened without the help of 9th District residents Eileen Oien, Darleen Broom, and Gene Snyder, who attended the city council meeting and proclaimed, "South Street Makes Sense."
The next step is for the map to be circulated throughout all Long Beach communities for input, and the final map is required to be submitted to Los Angeles County by late August. For more information on the redistricting process, please visit www.longbeach.gov/redistricting.
