Corner Of Anaheim & LB Blvd Is Being Transformed
Earlier today, we broke ground on Long Beach's first Senior Arts Colony. The 200 unit innovative housing development is designed for residents 55 years and above and will include an arts education center, gallery and performance space, and will appeal to seniors who are looking to engage in the spirit and creativity of an active lifestyle.

The Senior Arts Colony project is located on the corner of Anaheim and Long Beach, and is the first of a two phase major development. The second phase, a 12 story tower of mixed income condominiums, will begin once the Senior Arts Colony is complete.

This project will serve as a new gateway to Downtown Long Beach and is going to transform the Anaheim and Long Beach Blvd corridors.

The Colony will also feature community rooms, theater, art rooms, community gardens, bark park area, residential library, BBQ areas, spa, laundry facilities, open outdoor areas and on-site management offices and social services for seniors.

A special thanks to Mayor Bob Foster, the Long Beach Housing Development Company, the Redevelopment Agency, Meta Housing Corporation, and the Century Housing Corporation. Additionally, thanks to Studio One Eleven for designing such an architecturally stunning development.

The estimated completion date for phase one is December of 2012.
