Fighting For Long Beach In Washington D.C.
Councilmembers Garcia and DeLong travel to DC to advocate for Long Beach
As members of the City's Federal Legislative Committee, we will be in Washington representing Long Beach and advocating for our priorities. Over two days, we have meetings scheduled with our Congressmembers Linda Sanchez, Laura Richardson and Dana Rohrabacher, as well as staff from Senator Dianne Feinstein and Senator Barbara Boxer, the Army Corps of Engineers, House and Senate Appropriations staff, and Administration Officials.

Our legislative agenda includes federal support for local transportation projects, Community Development Block Grants, the restoration of the Colorado Lagoon, and funding for the Long Beach Breakwater / San Pedro Bay Ecosystem Restoration Study. We will also continue to support local jobs and manufacturing, especially at our C-17 Boeing Plant.

Our country is still facing enormous economic challenges, and we understand the difficult decisions that our President and the Congress must make. However, we strongly believe that if Congress is going to make investments, they should invest in Long Beach.
