Long Beach Parks, Recreation and Marine would like to welcome you to explore the world of our past in the years of this great city’s founding. This week’s segment of Rancho Los Cerritos’ Winter Lecture Series, Slices of Everyday Life in Nineteenth-Century California, will bring you “Nelson’s Academy of Genteel Behavior”. Walter Nelson and his wife, Sheila Murphy-Nelson, will discuss and demonstrate how nineteenth-century Californians approached social interactions, attire, and deportment. This high-energy program mixes history with humor, authentic costumes, and audience participation. Join us for this event on the evening of Wednesday February 23, from 7 to 8:30 p.m., with a general admission of only $5.
