Explore the lives of the remarkable women who witnessed the growth of early Southern California and had a hand in the very creation of Long Beach! Listen in on a conversation of the Hathaway sisters as they discuss the trials and tribulations they experienced while living in 19th-century Los Angeles. The performance will take place on Rancho Los Cerritos' sun porch with a beautiful dessert buffet on Tuesday, February 8, at 2pm. Reservations are required no later than February 4, and tickets are $20 per person.
The name "Bixby" is well-known throughout Los Angeles and Orange Counties for the family’s impact on the grown and development of our state. In the mid-1800’s, three members of the Bixby family married four Hathaway sisters: all daughters of a congregational minister from Maine. The fifth sister helped in raising their children, but never married. These women experienced amazing things as they traveled the California frontier to move to Los Angeles, live on a sheep ranch, and help to build the new community of Long Beach.
