Over the weekend, I joined the Willmore City Heritage Association to install the first of several historical markers in the Willmore City neighborhood. The first of seven signs was installed at Loma Vista Drive and Chestnut across from Drake Park. These signs serve as welcome designations to the birthplace of Long Beach, and our first historic district.
Our office worked closely with Willmore residents and the Redevelopment Agency who funded the project, to design and select locations for the signs. We are proud of this project that will continue to enhance an already great neighborhood.
All the signs are being installed this week at the following locations:
4th Street and Magnolia Avenue
6th Street and Chestnut Avenue
7th Street and Maine Avenue
7th Street and Cedar Avenue
10th Street and Magnolia Avenue
Loma Vista Drive and 12th Street
Loma Vista Drive at Chestnut
Thanks again to the Willmore residents that were involved and the Redevelopment Agency for their support.
