Keeping up Appearances The "Top of the Town" continues to show improvement in recent years, in spite of the affects of the recession.
Redevelopment has beautified center medians along most of the major boulevards in North Long Beach, and a new full service grocery store opened where there has been a shortage of markets for the area for many years.
A new fire station will begin construction at the corner of Orange and Artesia in 2010 and plans are progressing to rebuild the blighted commercial area along Atlantic Avenue north of South Street as well as along Artesia Boulevard at Atlantic Avenue.
And the great residents of the Ninth District continue to maintain their neighborhoods to a high standard. The Ninth District Council office is very pro-active in the effort to beautify our community, as well as in response to constituent’s requests for attention from the City.
