A bike boulevard on Vista Avenue will provide a safe route to school for students at Lowell Elementary and Rogers Middle School on the east and Horace Mann Elementary on the west end of Vista.
Extending from Nieto to Temple, the bike boulevard will give preference to bicyclists and install traffic calming features such as traffic circles and traffic diverters. Generally located on residential streets adjacent to major traffic corridors, bike boulevards provide a convenient, direct cycling option for families with young children, students, commuters, and recreational cyclists.
This October, the City hosted its third community meeting to discuss the bike boulevard plans for Vista Avenue. A copy of the presentation that was delivered at the meeting is attached below. The current plan will have the Vista Bike Boulevard completed by summer 2010.
