Search for Candidates for Commissions
Candidates representing the Ninth District are needed for the Sustainable City Commission and the Homeless Services Advisory Committee.

Sustainable City Commission:
Meetings 4th Thursday of the month - 4:00 PM, City Council Chambers, City Hall.

Function Make advisory policy recommendations to the city council on issues relating to the environment.

Membership One member from each of the nine (9) council districts, and two(2) at-large. Each member of city council shall nominate a max. of three individuals to the Mayor to represent each respective council district. Two (2) members at-large appointed by the Mayor. Five (5) members appointed (includes the 2 At-Large and 3 others determined by lottery), shall serve for an initial two(2) year term. These members shall be eligible for re-appointment to one additional four(4) year term.

Homeless Advisory Committee:
Meetings First Wednesday, 3:30 P.M.; Long Beach Multi-Service Center - 1301 W. 12th Street - Conference Room or L.B. Health Dept. - 2525 Grand Ave. (see current agenda for mtg. location).

Function Gathers information from homeless persons and makes recommendations to the Mayor and City Council how to best meet the needs of the homeless community.

Membership Appointed by Mayor.  Nine (9) representing the council districts, City Council recommendations.  Two (2) at-large, selected by Mayor.
