Dear Friends:
Please join me for an important meeting to discuss the Mayor and City Manager's proposed budget for the City of Long Beach in 2010. In this economic climate there are sure to be changes in the delivery of city services to residents and businesses, so it is crucial that you make your priorities clear to City staff and City Council. I am co-hosting the Budget Town Hall with Councilmember Robert Garcia at the Museum of Latin American Art, which has plenty of free parking and will be open to residents wishing to visit the galleries before the meeting.

Galleries open from 5:30 pm - 6:30 pm

For your information leading up to the town hall, I have taken the liberty of providing links to the Mayor's Proposed Budget and the City Manager's Proposed Budget. As your elected representative, I have developed a set of priorities based on living in the community and discussing concerns and goals with neighbors like you. However, I am deeply committed to making sure that you have a voice in the final budget that City Council adopts in late September. Therefore, I encourage you to read through both proposals and come prepared with questions and comments about the budget's impact on you, the community and the rest of our city.
Please do not hesitate to contact my office with questions or concerns on this or any other city-related issue at (562) 570-6684 or district2@longbeach.gov.
Warmly,
Suja Lowenthal
Councilmember, Second District
