REQUEST FOR PROPOSALS
SOCIAL SERVICE GRANT PROGRAM
The City of Long Beach Department of Community Development has issued a Request For Proposals (RFP) to solicit participants for the Social Service Grant (SSG) Program. Qualified respondents must be nonprofit agencies with at least 2 years experience in providing social services in Long Beach. The SSG will provide funding to supplement critical health and social services for underserved populations that are presently under-funded. The maximum funding amount is $15,000.
Copies of the RFP and SSG application form may be obtained Monday through Friday, 7:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., beginning Friday, June 19, 2009, at the City of Long Beach, Community Development Department, 333 West Ocean Boulevard, 3rd Floor, and 444 W. Ocean Blvd., Ste. 1700, Long Beach, California. Please request Application Packet No. RFP-SSG-0715. Materials will not be mailed in response to telephone requests. A copy of the form can also be downloaded by clicking here. Completed proposals must be hand-delivered to the Department of Community Development no later than 4:00 p.m., Wednesday, July 15, 2009.
MANDATORY SOCIAL SERVICE GRANT PROGRAM WORKSHOP

The City of Long Beach will conduct and administer the Social Service Grant Programin compliance with Title VI of the Civil Rights Act of 1964 (42 U.S.C. 2000d), The Fair Housing Act (42 U.S.C. 3601-3620), The Age Discrimination Act of 1975, Executive Orders 11063, 11625, 12138, 12432, and 12892, Section 504 of the Rehabilitation Act of 1973 (29 U.S.C. 794), and the Americans with Disabilities Act (Title II).
