Your Recovery Dollars At Work: Determining Workforce Training Needs
Allied HealthCare Providers Input Needed
The Workforce Investment Board is developing a strategy to determine employment and training opportunities for the regional allied health care industry workforce. The planning is two-fold: an on-line survey of needs and development of a regional health care workforce strategy.
Public, private, non-profit and allied healthcare stakeholders can complete the on-line Allied Healthcare Workforce Needs Survey by June 16 to have their opinions become part of the data that will be considered for the strategy.
“Earlier this year, the Workforce Investment Board determined that a portion of the Network’s Recovery Act Funds would be utilized to continue efforts to address workforce needs of industry sectors of vital importance to our regional economy,” said Bryan Rogers, Pacific Gateway Workforce Investment Network Executive Director. “In our region, healthcare provides a critical link to future jobs; so this survey and partnership are important to that effort.”
The Survey will help determine the needs of allied healthcare providers in recruiting, training, and retaining a qualified, diverse workforce in this time of great change. It will also provide survey responders with an opportunity to participate in the development of regional allied healthcare industry workforce strategies.
