Sean Hitchcock, the owner of 6400 Loynes Drive, came to the City today with an emergency permit issued by the California Coastal Commission for the Loynes site. The emergency permit authorizes the import of 1000 cubic yards of dirt to cap any exposed landfill property, per the orders from the California Integrated Waste Management Board.
Based on the emergency permit, Development Services issued a grading permit to place 1000 cubic yards of dirt on the site. Mr. Hitchcock said he will start the work on Monday, April 13 and should be finished by the end of the week. The building inspector assigned to this area will monitor the progress of the grading to ensure it is in compliance with permits. The City is in the process of formulating a public information campaign to alert the community that this work is pursuant to a California Coastal Commission permit.
