Free Youth Football Camp

 March 28, 2009 – Compton California

On Saturday, March 28, 2009, New York Giants Pro Bowl Linebacker Antonio Pierce will host a free football camp for kids ages 7-18 at El Camino College (formerly Compton College) in Compton California.

Over 15 NFL athletes and 30 college athletes will join Antonio in support of his mission to improve the quality of life for the youth in the Compton/Long Beach area. Previous NFL player participants included Ryan Clark of the Pittsburgh Steelers, Lofa Tatupu of the Seattle Seahawks, Willie McGinest of the Cleveland Browns, Rashad Bauman of the Cincinnati Bengals, Robert Royal and Marcus Washington of the Washington Redskins, Brandon Manumaleuna of the San Diego Chargers, Jason Bell, Reuben Droughns, Derrick Ward and Frank Walker of the New York Giants, Billy Davis former Baltimore Ravens, Kenyon Rambo former Dallas Cowboy, Chris Hayes former New England Patriots, and  Marcellus Wiley and  Matthew Hatchette former Jacksonville Jaguars.

“My aim is to promote self esteem through positive experiences like the football camp.  I feel opportunities such as this can offer kids a chance to hear directly from their NFL heroes, that although they came from similar surroundings, hard work and determination helped them to achieve their dreams.”  Pierce further states “I was here. I know firsthand what they are going through. If I can use this camp to turn one kid around, it will be all worth it.”

I am writing today to ask your assistance in making this camp a success by donating funds needed to help offset the costs of the camp. Your donation will help cover the costs of the t-shirts, camp shorts, venue rental fees, hotel costs, event banners, lunch and beverages for the 400 campers and 45 NFL and college athletes.

In exchange for your $1,000 donation, we would add your logo to our final press release, the camp T-shirt, the event banner, but most of all, you will help make a difference in the lives of these young people.

Sponsor checks and other donations should be made payable to the Antonio Pierce Football Camp and mailed to the address listed below.
