The City of Long Beach is seeking volunteers to participate on the Citizen Technology Advisory Committee (CTAC). Established in 2004 at the request of the Long Beach City Council, CTAC works with City staff to help identify and evaluate new information and communications technology to improve service delivery to the public. CTAC is responsible for reviewing the City's current use of technology, providing feedback on future technology plans under consideration, and assisting City staff explore the feasibility of new technology, as well as communicating the City's technology plans and activities to others in the community.
Individuals with experience in the technology field are encouraged to participate. Committee members will be selected on the basis of individual interest, experience, expertise, and ability to provide objective feedback and input to City staff. Committee members are precluded from doing business with the City. All CTAC appointments are made by the City Manager.
CTAC meetings are held bi-monthly during business hours at City Hall and are chaired by Curtis Tani, the City's Director of Technology Services. Interested volunteers should email a letter of interest and resume to Curtis_Tani@longbeach.gov by Friday, November 21, 2008.
