Help save a life this weekend!
Register to be a bone marrow donor!
Krissy Kobata

Krissy Kobata is an all American girl of mixed heritage.  Krissy was recently diagnosed with a blood disorder that would eventually need a bone marrow transplant to help save her life.  Her only brother is not a match.

Krissy is half Japanese and half Caucasian.  Because ethnicity is a key factor in "matching" a patient with a donor, Krissy’s search for a bone marrow donor is especially difficult.  More diverse donors are needed!

Krissy’s friends and family are arranging marrow donor drive in Long Beach this weekend:

3:00 pm – 8:00 pm, Saturday, June 27

Long Beach Japanese Cultural Center Festival, 1766 Seabright Ave, Long Beach

1:00 pm – 6:00 pm, Sunday, June 28

Long Beach Japanese Cultural Center Festival, 1766 Seabright Ave, Long Beach

Only 30% of the patients find matches amongst their families, 70% have to search for an unrelated donor to have that second chance at life.  To know more about marrow donation and upcoming drives please visit: http://www.asianmarrow.org/www.AsianMarrow.org.

Krissy’s story was recently in the Long Beach Press-Telegram.
