City Recognized for Outstanding Program
Accepting the award are L-R Reshan Cooray, Mike Alio, and Robert Johnson.

Each year the Public Risk Management Association (PRIMA) recognizes top risk management programs for public entities across the United States.  At this year’s annual conference the City of Long Beach was recognized for its outstanding program.  Robert Johnson, Manager of Workers' Compensation, (on the right) was joined by Michael Alio, Risk Manager, (center) and Reshan Cooray, City Safety Officer, as they accepted the award on June 11 on behalf of the City.

The Public Risk Management Association is the largest risk management association in North America dedicated solely to the practice of risk management in the public sector.  Members handle risk management, safety, and insurance for local and state governments.  PRIMA provides education, training, professional development, and publications.  As a member of PRIMA, the City of Long Beach benefits by learning how to lower losses and save precious public funds.  California PRIMA is the California chapter of this organization.
