HELP SOLVE A DOUBLE MURDER
On January 3, 2007, at approximately 11:00 p.m., officers from the Long Beach Police Department were dispatched to a "shots fired" call in the 1800 block of Pine Avenue. Upon arrival, officers discovered two gunshot victims who were subsequently determined to be dead by Long Beach Fire Department personnel. The deceased have been identified as 40-year-old Tanya Rhena Settles and 39-year-old Tasha Yolanda Brown, both of Long Beach.
The area of the shooting has recently experienced other violent crimes and neighborhood residents are encouraged to report all suspicious activities to the Long Beach Police. Detectives continue to investigate the aforementioned double-murder and other violent crimes, which have occurred in the area. Information provided by the public can be essential in solving these crimes.
