Natural Gas Pipeline Improvement Project
Long Awaited construction to replace aging natural gas pipeline in the Naples and Treasure Islnad areas will, depending on weather, begin on January 16 and be completed on March 2007.

As part of a six-year strategic infrastructure improvement plan in the City’s natural gas system, this replacement project will improve the reliability, integrity and capacity of aged natural gas pipelines, most of which were installed in the 50s. This is one of ten projects citywide that will be installed this year.
While Long Beach Gas and Oil Department (LBGO) and its contractor ARB Inc. will do everything possible to minimize the temporary traffic and parking restrictions, there will be some disruption.
During construction, certain streets, alleys and curbside parking will be closed to accommodate construction personnel and equipment.
Individual residents will experience construction work in front of their homes for a short period of time.

In an emergency, LBGO/ARB Inc. will provide temporary access, if that day’s construction blocks a driveway.

LBGO/ARB will be distributing individual letters, which provide information and contact names, to affected residents, in the coming week.  Also LBGO/ARB will "knock and notify" each home the day before actual construction begins on that individual property.
