Reverse 9-1-1 System EMERGENCY NOTIFICATION The City of Long Beach has implemented an Emergency Notification System called Reverse 9-1-1 that can deliver emergency messages via telephone to every landline in the city or in a targeted area during a public safety incident. All landline telephone customers in the City are automatically in the system. The emergency notifications can also reach cell phones, TTY/TDD service or Internet phone service, but those numbers must be registered first, and the City of Long Beach strongly recommends that those numbers are registered.
