On Monday, July 10, 2006, at approximately 12:00 p.m., officers responded to a residence in the 2100 block of Earl Avenue and discovered the body of an male adult that had been shot several times.
The preliminary investigation revealed that the suspect, identified as Darrell Rucker, a 39 year-old Long Beach resident, became involved in a dispute with the victim over the victimís vehicle. Suspect Rucker, who is the victimís uncle, shot the victim multiple times in the upper torso before fleeing the residence. A family member who was in the residence at the time of the shooting immediately called police.
The victim has been identified as Malcolm Youngblood, a 19 year-old Los Angeles resident. Darrell Rucker fled the residence and is currently wanted for the murder of his nephew.
