Skylinks at Long Beach Golf Course will host the First Annual Long Beach Mayor's Trophy Charity Golf Tournament on Friday, August 18, 2006.  Registration begins at 10:30 AM, followed by lunch and a silent auction.  The "shamble" format, shotgun start tournament kicks off at noon, featuring a variety of on-course contests for exciting prizes.  This event benefits the Long Beach Junior Golf Program and will serve as one of the first public appearances for the newly elected Mayor of Long Beach.

At the conclusion of play, randomly selected golfers will be invited to participate in the $1 Million Hole-In-One Challenge.  The successful golfer would win $500,000, with the other $500,000 donated to the Long Beach Junior Golf Program.  An awards reception and dinner buffet will follow.

Entry into the tournament is $175 per person, and includes green and cart fees, tee gifts, awards and dinner.  The even is limited to the first 144 entrants.  Teams will compete as a fivesome, with one junior golfer paired with each foursome entered.  In addition to the $1 Million Hole-In-One Challenge, the tournament will feature a variety of on-course activities and prizes.  Outstanding hole-in-one prizes include $10,000 cash; two international business class tickets on Delta Airlines; a five-day, four-night golf vacation for two to Acapulco; and a Nike Sasquatch Driver.
