On Sunday, November 13, 2005, at approximately 5:40 p.m., officers from the Long Beach Police Department responded to the 300 block of East Rhea Street in regards to a shooting that resulted in the death of a male adult.
The preliminary investigation revealed that two males were involved in a verbal confrontation in an alley in the 300 block of East Rhea Street. When the victimís girlfriend heard the arguing, she tried to intervene, however, the suspect fired at the victim numerous times, striking him in the upper torso.
The suspect, who is an ex-boyfriend of the woman, then took her keys from her and fled the scene in her vehicle.
The victim, identified as 30 year-old Lisaki Ueligitone of Long Beach, was transported to a local area hospital, however, he was pronounced dead a short time later as a result of injuries sustained in the shooting.
Police are seeking the publicís help in locating the suspect, 34 year-old Larry Omar Gardner of Long Beach, who was last seen driving from the crime scene in a 2001 blue Ford Expedition, California license plate number 4RMU738. Anyone who sees Suspect Gardner or the vehicle is urged to call 9-1-1. At no time should anyone attempt to contact or detain Suspect Gardner, as he is considered armed and dangerous.
UPDATE - The vehicle the suspect stole has been found.
