On August 4, 2009, the Long Beach City Council approved the motion to authorize the City Manager to accept grant funding in the amount of $75,000 from the County of Los Angeles for the Colorado Lagoon Restoration Project. The Annual Belmont Shore Christmas Parade is scheduled to begin at 6:00pm on Satuday, December 2, 2006. Second Street is scheduled to be closed to vehicular traffic at 3:00pm that same afternoon.
In an effort to prevent any accidents or injuries, items found (chairs or other items used to reserve a spot) along the route prior to the street closure will be confiscated at the direction of the Long Beach Police Department.
