A 1500 sq.ft. museum and visitor’s center is housed in the Nature Center’s headquarters on an island in the North Lake. The museums exhibits were designed in conjunction with the Los Angeles County Natural History Museum, as an introduction to the Nature Center’s ecosystems. The museum gallery hosts small art exhibits from local artisans. A small bookstore provided visitors with an opportunity to purchase nature and environmentally themed books and gifts.
