Every year, millions of pounds of trash flow to the oceans through storm drains, rivers, streams and creeks. Often, this trash originates in neighborhoods many miles away. This not only affects how our beaches look, but also the health of the plants and animals that live there.
Last year, California Coastal Clean Up Cleanup Day volunteers in Long Beach picked up over 1 ton of trash in three hours!
Join us this year and make a big impact in our community. Grab some friends and come on down to the beach on September 17th.
