Great Backyard Bird Count
Join us at the Nature Center to become a scientist for the day, and help count our feathery friends. The data gathered helps to determine the effects of global warming on birds.

Restoration Exploration
Join staff for a rare glimpse of what the land looked like 100 years ago.
The Nature Center restoration trails will be open to the public for viewing from 10am –12pm.

Artisan Craft Fair
Help to support your local community. Come to the Nature Center on the fourth Saturday of the month to shop for crafts made by local artists.

Adopt A Beach Cleanup
Have you always wanted to be a part of the Adopt A Beach program? Join El Dorado Nature Center staff down at the Belmont Pier every Fourth Saturday of the month to help keep our local beaches clean for all who use them. Bags and gloves provided, or be green and bring your own bucket.

Arbor Day Tree Planting
Join Nature Center staff and volunteers to celebrate Arbor Day. We’ll be planting California native trees along our newly restored stream. Space is limited to 50 people,Pre-registration is mandatory. Must be at least 10 years and older. Free program. Service hours available. Call 562-570-1745 to register.

Spring Celebration Baby Animals are back!
Join us at the day at the Nature Center to welcome spring and all that it brings, animals, flowers, and fun. This year to kick it off we’ll be having our “Rubber Ducky Race” down our newly restored stream. Sponsor a duck in the race for $5 and help to support the habitat restoration along the stream.
Saturday March 20  10am –2pm . Free event.

Building Backyard Habitats
Have you ever wanted to bring the Nature Center home? Well now you can. Discover how to turn your backyard into a wonderful wildlife habitat that will attract butterflies, birds and critters of all sizes. Also learn how you can be a “Good Neighbor” by following simple rules to keep pesky wildlife from moving in. After completing your training you’ll be ready to get your yard certified as a wildlife habitat from the National Wildlife Federation. Pre-registration is required. Saturday,

Family Nightlife Walk
Looking for an alternative to the computer and TV?  Bring the kids to the Nature Center for a naturalist-led walk on the trails.

Audubon Bird Walk
Whether you’re a new birder or want to sharpen your skills, join members of El Dorado Audubon for this morning walk through the Nature Center. 8am-10am.  Free Program.

Birdwatching Basics
Discover the joys of birdwatching in this two-part class. No prior experience necessary. Binoculars are available to borrow. Class includes materials and pocket bird guide to take home.

Join us for a campfire to celebrate all that is equal, including the day and night, but most of all the return of the spring season.Saturday, March 20  7-9pm  $5 per person
