September is National Food Safety Education MonthRelease Date: 2018-09-07
September is National Food Safety Education Month. It provides an opportunity to raise awareness about steps you can take to prevent food poisoning.
Every year, an estimated 1 in 6 Americans (or 48 million people) get sick, 128,000 are hospitalized, and 3,000 die from eating contaminated food. Some people are more likely to get a foodborne illness or get seriously ill.
Food Facility owners, food managers, and food employees are invited to join us for "Meet, Greet and Eat" on September 18 at 9a.m. for a chance to mingle with your inspector and learn about new laws that may effect your food business. For more information about this informative event
