Complete comprehensive multiple-unit housing inspections to tenants who live in census track 5764.03 (zip code 90813) are conducted. These inspections allow residents to participate in a one-on-one outreach and tenant education program to learn techniques on how to prevent or reduce asthma, respiratory problems and unintentional injuries. Eligible families in census tract 5764.03 (zip code 90813) receive one-on-one outreach and education from the Healthy Homes Promotoras that is prescriptive to their individual homes.  All enrolled tenants receive education about Integrated Pest Management (IPM).   All enrolled tenants will receive “Green Kits” as incentives for participation in the Program. The Green Kit includes Murphy’s Oil Soap, vinegar, baking soda, spray bottle, reusable cleaning cloths, carbon monoxide detector (for units with gas appliances), bath mat, scrubbing pads, roach killing powder, child-proofing kit, fly swatter, and recipe card for non-toxic alternative cleaners.
