Welcome to the Long Beach Fire Department's Website...
On March 16, 1897, when the citizens of Long Beach were concerned about the increasing number of uncontrollable fires, 28 charter members signed up as volunteer firemen. Thus, the Long Beach Fire Department was established to serve the community. The Long Beach Fire Department has come a long way since it's humble beginnings, and we currently have 581 uniformed and civilian personnel budgeted. more LBFD history

The Great Southern California Shake Out

Join with the City of Long Beach and participate in a "One-of-a-Kind" event in Southern California to help prepare and get ready for a large earthquake. The next CERT refresher will be held on Saturday, May 17 at the Long Beach Fire Department Training Center in Long Beach.

The drill is open to all graduates of CERT training programs.
