Dog License Temporary Amnesty Ends Next Wednesday

Release Date: 2015-09-25

Based on direction from the City Council, Long Beach Animal Care Services will implement a temporary amnesty program waiving late penalty fees for dog licenses until September 30, 2015.

Earlier this year, the City Council passed an ordinance making it mandatory for dog owners to spay or neuter their pets, effective October 1.

An unaltered dog that has a valid license from Animal Care Services Bureau by October 1, 2015 will not be subject to this requirement, as long as the license remains current.

If your dog's license has lapsed, you may bring it current without the regular $30 late fee during this amnesty period.
