Enjoy live music and art work at more then a dozen restaurants and businesses along Altantic Avenue.  First Friday's on September 5th will feature the return of the First Fridays Trolley.  I am pleased to be able to sponsor the use of the trolley from George's Greek Cafe.  This month it will be running from 6:30PM-10:30PM.  The trolley proved to be a big hit in its August debut, providing free transportation to the different venues on Atlantic between Bixby Road and San Antonio Drive.  It turned into quite the party trolley as we even squeezed on the bluegrass band for a loop around Atlantic.

Join Councilwoman Rae Gabelich, Thursday, September 11th from 6:30PM to 8:30PM  for a public scoping meeting regarding the environmental impact report on the  I-710 Freeway Corridor Project. While the work on the freeway won't begin for a few more years, this is an important opportunity to provide your input about how to address the impacts from the 710 Freeway.  The location for the meeting will be at  Cabrillo High School, 2001 Santa Fe Ave.

We finally turned on the new traffic signals on Atlantic Avenue at Marshall Place and Cartegena Street.  Thanks to the Redevelopment Agency and our City's traffic engineers, we were able to create a more pedestrain-friendly corridor.  Thank you Bixby Knolls Business Inprovement Association for helping give the new traffic signals a proper launch.

Below is an updated calendar with a proposed list of additional budget workshops and topics as well as additional community budget meetings.  These workshops, hearings and community meetings serve as an effective means of reviewing and discussing the specific recommendations contained in the City Manager’s Proposed Budget, the Mayor’s Budget Recommendations and the Budget Oversight Committee’s recommendations.  All meetings will be at City Hall in City Council Chambers, unless otherwise noted.
