Meeting at DeMille to Discuss Status of Plan to Convert Facility to High School
Councilwoman Schipske is holding a meeting on Wednesday, June 10th, 6:00 p.m., at DeMille Middle School to discuss the status of Long Beach Unified School District's plans to convert the middle school into a vocational high school.

Schipske Says ‘No’ To City of Hawaiian Gardens Traffic Proposals
Councilwoman Schipske issued a statement opposing the City of Hawaiian Gardens' proposal to extend 226th Street westward to connect with Pioneer Boulevard. A community meeting will be held on Thursday, June 11th, 6:00 p.m. at Newcomb Academy.

Water Safety Campaign - Download the flyer!
With temperatures rising and the summer months approaching, outdoor activities including water recreation activities will begin to increase. The Long Beach Fire and Lifeguard Departments encourage residents to practice safety in and around water to prevent drowning and injuries from occurring.

Special Message
Sean Hitchcock, the owner of 6400 Loynes Drive, came to the City today with an emergency permit issued by the California Coastal Commission for the Loynes site. The emergency permit authorizes the import of 1000 cubic yards of dirt to cap any exposed landfill property, per the orders from the California Integrated Waste Management Board.
