At the request of City management, the Civil Service Commission, at its March 18, 2009 meeting, canceled the recruitment for the position of Fire Recruit, originally scheduled to open March 2, 2009.

Minimum Qualifications for Fire Recruit
Qualified candidates must satisfy requirements A, B, C, D, and E by the filing deadline.
A. A valid driver’s license.
B. Eighteen (18) years of age or older.
C. High school diploma or GED equivalency.
D. A current, valid CPAT (Candidate Physical Ability Test) certificate.
E. A current, valid Emergency Medical Technician I (EMT-I) certificate (with CPR certification), or higher.
Applicants may submit a valid certificate of EMT recertification (with proof of CPR certification) if applicable.
