This internship will be an exciting opportunity to take a leadership role in directing one or two planning or sustainability projects.

Plan and Grow For The Future
By working at the Planning Bureau or Office of Sustainability you are contributing to a livable Long Beach, which is essential to the quality of life, economic development, culture and public and environmental health of our citizens, businesses and neighborhoods. Interns will get a chance to work on projects in the fields of Land Use, Urban Design, Transportation, Sustainability, and Health Policy. Interns will also have the opportunity to gain insight into how local government implements model planning and sustainability programs while sharpening their writing, presentation, analysis and critical thinking skills under the supervision of leaders in the planning field.

Internship Qualifications
Applicants must have at least a 3.0 GPA, have at least junior standing; be pursuing a degree in Planning, Urban Design, Environmental Science/Policy, Graphic Design, Landscape Architecture, Public Administration/Policy, Business, Geography or related field (graduate students welcome). This is an unpaid internship and can be used for college credit. Interns will receive a free Long Beach Transit bus pass and; bike locker, enjoy flexible schedules & work in downtown Long Beach.
