The City of Long Beach would like to highlight and recognize Sustainable Events throughout the City. The Long Beach community is invited to participate in these public events and take individual actions to make this city more sustainable.

The Horseshoe Crab: Mark Botton has been actively involved in the protection and conservation of horseshoe crabs. He will deiscuss their biology and role in human healthcare.

Every Saturday, all day

Downtown Beach Cleanup

"Each time we have great prizes for you to win and The Pike Bar & Grill invites every helping hand to a free lunch! Supplies and refreshments are on us, but in order not to add more trash into the environment we encourage you to bring your own reusable water bottles and plastic bags--such as grocery bags.

El Dorado Nature Center Monthly Wetland Cleanups
Join us at Golden Shore Marine Reserve to learn more about our fragile weland habitats and how to protect them.
Art Walk Arts Fair
Every 2nd Saturday, 4:00 pm - 10:00 pm
"This monthly event provides the neighborhood with a public exhibition space for all art forms. Independent, folk, grass root artists as well as professional artists. Musicians, dancers, theatre and street performers are encouraged to participate. There are spaces for 45 artists' booths, two music locations and also a space for theatrical performers or any other form of artistic expression. Together with a street closure, local art galleries and businesses participate by hosting various art events."

Green Drinks Long Beach
3rd Wednesday of the Month at 6:30pm
The Green Drinks Long Beach Chapter meets every 3rd Wedensday of the month to share a drink and a green chat while supporting local businesses in Long Beach. First Fridays Long Beach

"The mission of First Fridays is to promote and support local artists and musicians by providing them with an outlet to showcase their work. Every first Friday night of the month, participating Bixby Knolls businesses will unite to promote local artists and musicians through extended operating hours. Long Beach Board of Water Commissioners Meeting
Meetings are held every 1st and 3rd Thursdays of the month at 9:00am in the Board Meeting Room on the 4th Floor in the Brennan S. Thomas Administration Building.
Litter-Free LB
More than 147 tons of litter and dumped items are collected annually by volunteers participating in clean-up events hosted by the Environmental Services Bureau. Clean-up events happen year-round. A litter-free Long Beach depends on volunteers like you!
Beach & Wetland Clean-ups
"Save Our Beach" conducts monthly beach and wetland cleanups in Seal Beach and Long Beach. You can also contact Kim Masoner to arrange your own beach cleanup at
Sierra Club Long Beach Chapter
Mondays at 7pm
The Sierra Club Angeles Chapter arranges monthly conditioning beach walks and hikes (4-5 miles) with opportunities for all ages and levels of experience.
Location: Belmont Pier parking lot south of Ocean Blv at the end of Termino St
Kundalini Yoga and Meditation - $12 per session
Enjoy the serenity of the Nature Center and experience the yoga of awareness through posture, movement, breath and meditation. We will practice yoga sets and meditations for health, mental vitality and inner peace. Bring walking shoes, water and a mat.
