You may also request a vote-by-mail ballot by printing this application, filling in the information and mailing to the Long Beach City Clerk. You can also request a vote-by-mail ballot to be mailed to you by emailing us at vote_by_mail@longbeach.gov.  You can call us at 562) 570-6101 for further assistance.

Voting by mail is a popular alternative to going to your local polling place. You can apply for a vote-by-mail ballot several ways. Your voters Official Sample Ballot pamphlet has a vote-by-mail request form located on the pamphlet's back cover. Fill in the application, separate it from your pamphlet and mail to the address on the application.

NOTICE: All applications for Vote-by-Mail MUST be received in the Long Beach City Clerk's office no later than 4:30 PM, April 6, 2010. Any application either by U. S. Mail or via the Internet received AFTER the deadline will NOT be issued a Vote-by-Mail ballot. You MUST either come to the City Clerk Department to vote or go to your regular polling place to vote if your request was late.

Last day to register or re-register to vote is March 29, 2010 for the Primary Nominating Election.  The deadline to register to vote in each election is 15 days prior to the particular election( E.C. 2103).  Please visit the County of Los Angeles Registrar-Recorder/County Clerk or the Secretary of State for more information.

Those desiring to become a permanent vote-by-mail voter, should print, fill in this form and mail it to the address indicated on the form. Permanent vote-by-mail status can be used by anyone. If after becoming a permanent vote-by-mail voter you fail to vote in a state-wide general election, you will need to re-register your vote-by-mail status. Your voting registration is not affected.

You may vote at the City Clerk Department, 333 W. Ocean Blvd., from March 15, 2010 through April 13, 2010 between the hours of 7:30 A.M. to 4:30 P.M. Or, if you are unable to go to the polls due to illness or disability, or find that you will be absent from the poll on election day, you may request, in a written statement, that a Vote By Mail ballot be delivered to you.
