Ballot Measures For April 8, 2014 Primary Nominating Election

Pursuant to actions taken by the Long Beach City Council at the January 7, 2014 City Council meeting, relating to the General Tax on Medical Marijuana Sales, a ballot measure was added to the April 8, 2014 Primary Nominating Election. The City Council meeting of Tuesday, January 14, 2014 announced the argument writers for the General Tax on Medical Marijuana Sales. Arguments and Rebuttals are listed below.

Argument writers are designated by the Mayor, with the approval of the City Council, to write arguments either for or against the adoption of any measure or proposition placed on the ballot. In making such designation, the Mayor shall designate one of the following:

A. The Mayor;

B. An elected officer of the City;

C. An appointive officer of the City;

D. An association of citizens; or

E. An individual voter.
