Our goal is to provide our voters and residents with the information they need to fully and properly exercise their voting rights. Information is grouped together with general information on the voting process, the current or upcoming election, candidates and issues. There is also information on your polling place and how to volunteer as a poll worker. A section is also available for candidates in an upcoming election or those who might wish to run for office in future elections. Information is provided in English as well as the legally required languages of Spanish, Khmer, Tagalog and Vietnamese. It is our sincere hope to serve all of Long Beach as well as the voters in the Long Beach Unified School District and the Long Beach Community College District during each election. The web site is divided into broad categories covering general and specific election information. Current Election Information On September 1, 2009, the Long Beach Unified School District Board adopted resolutions declaring a vacancy in the office of Board of Education Member, District 3, and to conduct a Special Election to fill the vacant office on December 29, 2009. The Candidate Nomination Period is September 8, 2009 through October 2, 2009. Those persons interested in running for the office of Board of Education Member, District 3, must file nomination petition documents with the County of Los Angeles Registrar-Recorder/County Clerk, located at 2400 Imperial Highway, Norwalk, CA 90650, or call (562) 462-2317 for more information.
