Jordan High School Community Forum: Saturday, June 1st, 2013

The LBVPP Community Forum in North Long Beach took place at Jordan High School, 6500 Atlantic Ave., Long Beach, CA 90805, on Saturday, June 1st, 2013 from 12:00pm to 3:00pm. A total of 97 community residents and leaders were in attendance. UCLA Graduate Students presented their research findings on bullying, human trafficking, and family violence in Long Beach. During the forum, community residents were asked several questions and prioritized their answers for question numbers three (3) and four (4). The top choices were as follows:

Question 3: What is currently working well to prevent violence in Long Beach?

2. After School Programs (WRAP/STAR)

3. Police Presence

Question 4: What types of services should the community develop to help prevent violence in Long Beach?

1. Community Resource Center

2. Communication between Police Department and Community

3. Community Activities
