El Dorado Community Forum: Wednesday, July 24, 2013

The LBVPP Community Forum in East Long Beach took place at El Dorado Park, 2800 N. Studebaker Rd., Long Beach, CA 90815, on Wednesday, July 24, 2013 from 6:00pm to 8:00pm. A total of 25 community residents and leaders were in attendance. During the forum, community residents were asked several questions and prioritized their answers for question numbers three (3) and four (4). The top choices were as follows:

Question 3: What is currently working well to prevent violence in Long Beach?

1. Neighborhood Associations

2. After School Programs

3. Crime Reporting

Question 4: What types of services should the community develop to help prevent violence in Long Beach?

1. Organizations like “We Love LB” and Block Parties

2. Reclaim Abandoned Spaces

3. Night Walks
