Cesar E. Chavez Community Forum: Saturday, March 9, 2013

The LBVPP Community Forum in South Long Beach took place at Cesar E. Chavez Park located at 401 Golden Ave, Long Beach, CA 90802, on Saturday, March 9, 2013 from 9:00am to 12:00pm. A total of 167 community residents and leaders were in attendance. During the forum, community residents were asked several questions:

1. What words come to mind when you think of the term "community engagement"?

2. At community input forums like this one, what types of questions should be asked that will help in creating a citywide violence prevention plan?

3. When community input forums are planned, where should they take place to increase community participation and awareness?

4. Which organizations, agencies, groups, etc., should participate in specialized focus groups?

The feedback we received at the Community Forum is essential to writing the Long Beach Violence Prevention Plan. Thank you to all who attended. For a full list of responses at the forum click here.
