FIRST-TIME HOME BUYER SEMINARS In an effort to educate the public about homeownership opportunities in the City of Long Beach, The Long Beach Housing Development Company hosts monthly Home Buyer Seminars. These seminars, in association with Los Angeles Neighborhood Housing Services, provide individuals with information in regards to selecting a home, finding a realtor, selecting a lender, and understanding credit issues. Also, attendees learn about the many first-time home buying programs available in the City of Long Beach. The seminars are aimed at providing enough information about the home buying process to quell any fears of potential first-time home buyers and to graduate them from renters to owners. Printed materials are available to the public at all seminars and every question will be answered before the seminar ends. Once completed, the seminar attendee receives a Certificate of Completion verifying that they have attended the seminar and are ready to become a first-time home buyer. The cost for the seminar is $25.00 per family.
