| Low-cost loans are available to correct all building/property deficiencies as determined by City of Long Beach codes. Other conditions of the property, which if not corrected during the rehabilitation will soon become a building/property deficiency, may also be addressed. More general repair, such as upgrading of a kitchen or bathroom, may also be included if funds are available. |

Low-Income Homeowner Residential Rehabilitation Loan Program provides low-cost loans, up to $35,000, available to qualified applicants at a fixed rate of 3% for owner-occupants of one- to four-dwelling units on a lot. Owner-occupants incur no out-of-pocket costs. There are no points or appraisal fees, and in most cases payments by homeowners can be deferred until the property is sold. To qualify for this loan the year 2006 income limits for owners is $38,800 for a household of one to $73,200 for a household of eight.

Multi-Family Residential Rehabilitation Loan Program provides low-cost loans, with no maximum loan amount, available to qualified applicants at 0% interest with a 20-year loan term for owners of rental units of two or more on a lot. Owners of rental property incur minimal out-of-pocket costs. To qualify for this loan there is no limit to the income for the owner of a rental unit; however, tenants of the rental units assisted must be low-income.
