No successful organization can function properly without “behind-the-scenes” support. The Administrative and Financial Services Bureau provides central administration, coordination, and direction for the entire Department of Community Development. The bureau oversees and manages the Department's $156 million budget, 96 percent of which is Federal, State and local grants. It also performs personnel functions for the department's 290 staff members. This ensures that provisions for manpower and operating funds are adequate to support the neighborhood, housing and workforce development activities in the City of Long Beach.
The Administrative and Financial Services Bureau is manned by dedicated, service-minded staff who take pleasure in supporting the myriad number of activities occurring in the department’s other five bureaus. By providing the department with the necessary administrative tools needed to accomplish its mission, the bureau is making great strides towards improving the quality of life for the residents of Long Beach.
