| The Process If you have been notified by the Airport that you are eligible for the Program, these steps will be included in the process. Homeowner Application Completing the application is the first step to reducing the noise levels in your home. Priority for the first phase of the Program will be determined by the return date of the application, as well as the length of time you have owned the home and the owner-occupied status of your home. Home Inventory and Noise-Measurement Visits You will be contacted by the Program consultant to set up a meeting to evaluate your home. During the meeting, the consultant will inventory and measure windows and doors, inspect ventilation and insulation systems, and sketch a floor plan. The Program consultant will need access to all qualifying areas of the home for a complete inventory. Non-habitable areas, such as garages, converted garages, screened or covered porches or patios do not qualify for treatment. Noise measurements will be made to determine which treatments are necessary to achieve the acoustical goals for your home. The project coordinator will be available to review the Avigation Easement and Participant Authorization Agreement with you. This first visit will last approximately two hours. After the assessment, the consultant will begin to design a custom treatment package that meets your approval and Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) standards. Development, Review and Finalization of Your Design Package The Program consultant will meet with you a second time to present the specific recommendations for your home. Your custom design package may include selections of energy efficient, environmentally friendly windows, doors, insulation and new or modified HVAC system. During this visit, the consultant will go over these selections and ensure the design package meets your approval. You will be asked to approve and sign the design package, as well as the Avigation Easement. A copy of the signed package will be mailed to you. This visit will last approximately one hour. Contractor Visit A third visit will be scheduled for a contractor to assess your home and take final measurements. There will be video taken of your home before construction begins in order to document its condition. The contractor will then work with manufacturers to ensure your new windows and doors meet Program specifications. Delivery of products generally takes between 10 and 12 weeks, at which time construction will begin. Construction Scheduling Prior to construction, the contractor will submit a schedule to the Airport proposing dates for working on your home. Since dates need to be coordinated with a number of variables, they can be difficult to change. Throughout the process, the Program consultant will assist in coordinating with the contractors to minimize disruption to your schedule. The homeowner, or someone 18 years or older appointed by the homeowner, must be in the home during each day of construction. Having trouble viewing downloaded files?
