Long Beach City Hall Will Turn Into ‘Kitty Hall’ for Special Adoption Day on Friday, September 18Release Date: 2015-09-15
Long Beach City Hall will become “Kitty Hall” on Friday, September 18, from 11:00 am to 3:00 pm, to encourage shelter cat adoptions and promote awareness of Long Beach Animal Care Services.
“When you adopt a shelter cat, you are saving a life,” said Mayor Robert Garcia. “I adopted my cat from our shelter and he's been a great addition to our family.”
The public is invited to play and cuddle with the kittens and cats available for adoption in the main lobby of “Kitty Hall.” Representatives will be available to answer questions about cat ownership and accept adoption applications. The P.D. Pitchford Companion Animal Village currently has more than 100 cats and kittens waiting for families to adopt them. Mayor Garcia's cat Tommy, the "First Cat," will be in attendance.
Spay and Neuter vouchers will be available, and there will be a discounted adoption rate of $20.
To view all the cats (and other animals) available for adoption at the shelter, visit www.LongBeachAnimalCare.com or download the Long Beach Animal Care Services mobile app on iTunes and Google Play.
