News ImageMayor Foster Urges City to Donate Food to Help Long Beach Residents in Need
For the second year in a row, Mayor Bob Foster and Food Finders are partnering together to help shrinking food bank supplies in the Long Beach area.  This year’s food drive will also include a request for pet food to help out Long Beach pet owners and their animal friends.  Collection barrels will be placed in 24 locations throughout the city.  Canned or packaged food will be accepted starting today until Jan. 31, 2010.

SEARCHING FOR LOST PETS IN LONG BEACH JUST GOT A LOT EASIER AT PETHARBOR.COM

Every sixty minutes, information about lost and stray pets is updated at www.petharbor.com. Another tool for improving the number of Long Beach animals returned to owners, Pet Harbor updates impound information to the web every hour and links residents to thousands of kennels across the region with the click of the mouse. Each year over 11,500 animals are impounded at Animal Care Services.
